The second call of the Fondazione Prada Film Fund remains open until Sept. 10, 2026, for independent feature-film projects in development and post-production. The production-stage deadline has already passed.
The annual fund has an endowment of €1.5 million and supports up to 14 projects. There are no restrictions on geography, language, theme or genre.
Grants range from €15,000 to €80,000 for development and €15,000 to €100,000 for post-production. Production grants range from €30,000 to €250,000, but applications for that stage are now closed.
Applications must be submitted by a production company involved in the project. Eligible films must have a minimum running time of 65 minutes. The applying production company must have produced at least two feature films that premiered at an eligible international film festival.
For development projects, at least 70% of the development budget and 20% of the total production budget must already be secured. Post-production projects must have at least 80% of their total production budget secured.
A South Asian precedent is Rubaiyat Hossain’s The Difficult Bride, which was selected in the fund’s inaugural edition for post-production support. The Bangladesh-France-Portugal-Norway-Germany co-production subsequently became the first Bangladeshi feature to premiere at the Venice International Film Festival, where it competed in Orizzonti.
