The Asia Pacific Screen Academy announced the nominations on September 9, with 36 films from 32 countries and regions represented across eight categories.

India has three nominated films. Anoop Lokkur’s Don’t Tell Mother, an India-Australia production, and Shalini Adnani’s Our Share of Sand, an India-U.K.-Greece co-production, are nominated for Best Youth Film.

Yashasvi Juyal and Ankit Thapa’s The Ink Stained Hand and the Missing Thumb, an India-U.S.-Saudi Arabia production, is nominated for Best Screenplay.

Nepal’s Elephants in the Fog, directed by Abinash Bikram Shah, leads the South Asian contingent with three nominations: Best Film, Best Director for Shah and Best Performance for Pushpa Thing Lama.

The film is one of two three-time nominees alongside Hamaguchi Ryusuke’s All of a Sudden, which is also nominated for Best Film, Best Director and Best Performance.

The 19th Asia Pacific Screen Awards will be held on October 30 on the Gold Coast, Australia.
